4th annual Future Media Lab. conference on January 21, 2014 // Brussels

The Future Media Lab., EMMA’s think-tank for knowledge sharing, policy advice and business innovation concerning the future of media, announces its fourth annual conference on January 21, 2014: "The Future of Content: Innovations in content creation, dissemination and consumption".

How can professional quality journalism be financed in the future? The next Future Media Lab. conference will debate this crucial question that will tackle the business model question for media companies. How will journalism change thanks to innovation in technology and new trends in media consumption?

This will lead us to a debate about how journalists and professional media will work together in the future.

Most importantly this debate aims to shape the public policy context: the legislative environment for media businesses and journalists has an influence on the future of media, and in particular on the future of professional quality journalism. Therefore the debate about press freedom, advertising, copyright, data-protection, level playing field and VAT paves the ground for the future of a free, independent, vibrant and diverse media landscape in Europe.

These fundamental questions are on the table at the next Future Media Lab. conference titled "The Future of Content" taking place on 21 January 2014 in Brussels: starting at 8.30h with a networking breakfast and ending at 14.30h after a networking lunch.

We expect media experts, editors, key stakeholders and policy makers to gather and debate in an highly interactive format. High level participation from the European Institutions as well as from all media sectors including editors is the basis for a fruitful and impactful debate.

This conference is hosted by the European Magazine Media Association, EMMA, and we are cooperating with the following partners: Association of European Radios (AER), European Business Press (EBP), European Publishers Council (EPC), Federation of European Publishers (FEP), Global Editors Network (GEN) and iMinds Media. Premium sponsor of this conference is Microsoft. Media Partners are EurActiv, dnv and new business.
